Incentives and Tax-Based Credits

Make a Quick Inquiry about your business needsFunding incentives are available and can be used in many business scenarios. The criteria for each incentive program differs.  Some target specific industries and have limited funding options while other larger programs, such as the National Emergency Grant- OJT (On-The-Job-Training provides funding to various businesses in hiring to train Aerospace Workers displaced from NASA’s Shuttle program.

A Brevard Workforce Business Liaison can assist you with expediting the process.

We often have incentive funding to assist businesses with:

  • Employee Retention
  • Workers Transitioning from Welfare
  • Hiring Disabled Workers
  • Hiring Veterans
  • Supporting Military Families
  • Helping Youth
  • Employing Mature Workers
  • And, other Non-Traditional Sources for Workers

Some of these programs are introduced on subsequent pages:

  • On-The-Job-Training Incentives to train newly hired workers.
  • Quick Response Training Incentives for new or expanding businesses creating new jobs.
  • Employed Worker Training for enhancing the skills of currently employed workers.
  • Incumbent Worker Training for customized training with for-profit businesses.  There is a funding preference for companies in particular industries particularly if it can represent a significant layoff avoidance strategy.
  • Welfare-to-Work and Work Opportunity Incentives for workers transitioning off welfare.
  • Others can be found in the RESOURCES section of this website.

A Business Liaison will be happy to help you sort through your options and process the documentation to get approval for what could be thousands of dollars in funding to assist your business.

AVOIDING A REDUCTION IN FORCE/INCENTIVES TO RETAIN

For help with retaining your current workforce:

If you have dedicated employees who could be retained if they had different skills, contact us! Brevard Workforce receives Employed Worker Training funds to help offset this type of training cost.  These funds are available on a first-come-first-served basis.

If your company is considering a temporary layoff, furlough or reduction in hours to reduce costs, the State of Florida’s Short Time Compensation Program may be an option.

STCP can offset wages lost to your employees during periods of a reduction in scheduled work hours.  The benefit to you is that you can reduce costs and lessen the negative impact on your workforce.
