What is CSTAR and how important is it to you?
It’s very important. The CSTAR designation in the TITLE of your resume indicates to businesses your designation as an aerospace worker.
Local, state and national companies state their specific interest in hiring workers with an aerospace background. In order for these companies to find you:
#1 – make sure the CSTAR designation is on your resume listed in the title, and
#2 – make sure to update the title of your resume in Employ Florida Marketplace (EFM) with the CSTAR designation.
HELP THEM FIND YOU. This is how businesses will search for aerospace workers to fill their positions; this could be very important when it comes to your future employment opportunities.
DO BUSINESSES KNOW about these OJT incentives-to-hire?
Aerospace workers from companies eligible for the OJT program can provide 50 percent of salary for up to 1040 hours with an approved training plan, if their new employer meets eligibility. The key factors in eligibility are not that difficult to meet, but it does require the new employer to provide retraining for their new employees. It means they have to be serious about giving job seekers a full-time permanent job, with an increase in skills. The retraining component is the key.
This is information that may be pertinent in your interview. Many businesses still do not know that they can apply for the OJT funding.
